“Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers: the snare is broken, and we are escaped.” Psalm 124:7.

By the evil intentions within the hearts of others, many have found themselves ensnared in traps and snares. Yet this Psalm also reflects our former predicament in sin—a state from which we were powerless to escape.

The Psalmist reminds us that through God’s deliverance, we have been set free. Now that we have been set free from the snare of the one who seeks to capture souls, we must use our liberty to lead others out of captivity. This freedom is not a license for sin, but a calling to lives that are a testimony.
